She (Mamie Gummer) says that growing up with one of the world’s most famous and best-loved stars was for the most part “pretty normal”, with one somewhat huge difference. The actress is one of four, with two younger sisters, Grace and Louisa, and an older brother, Henry.

“Strangers would come up to us all the time,” she said. “It was really annoying as a kid - mostly just because I get pretty fiercely protective of my mum because she is famously so gracious and kind to everyone. It falls to her friends and family, those around her, to protect her. I was a very small, very loud bodyguard.” (x)
